I know the pains of starting a yoga class on youtube, hating it, then just giving up. It brings me from zen-mode to bitch-mode before my first chaturanga. However, I have come up with a solution to this problem.
To help you and myself avoid this type of breakdown, I have sampled numerous hip-opening yoga videos on Youtube.
Hip-Opening Yoga- Personal Preferences
My personal preferences that I used to rank the following hip-opening yoga videos.
- Style: Yin
- Lazy, on the floor stretches
- Seriously, if I am going to do hip-opening yoga, I want to stretch. A big hell no to wasting my time and energy holding warrior-2 (unless vinyasa is what I am going for.)
- Minimal-moderate amount of talking
- If a teacher is talking about the pose for the entire length of the pose, I am out.
I also include information about each video that will also be listed, so you can choose for yourself which Hip-opening yoga practice to do!
Information About Each Yoga Video
- Poses
- Talking
- Time
- Style
- + any funny or lovely quotes
Listed below are the video links, key poses, time, amount of talking, and some key phrases. I included each video I tried; good, bad, and ugly. I will start with my favorite hip-opening youtube yoga videos, and end with the ones I felt were a waste of time. Enjoy!
